By approaching our experience in a relaxed, alert and openhearted manner, we can better navigate all aspects of life, even the parts that are difficult. Attending weekly classes is suggested to gain the cumulative positive effects of meditation and to sustain an at-home practice necessary for long-term change.

What to expect when attending your first class: Please try to arrive a few minutes early as classes begin promptly. You will be greeted warmly at the check-in desk. We request that shoes be removed before entering the meditation room. You are welcome to sit in a chair, sit or lie on a blanket, or to use your own meditation cushion. Props are available to help you feel more comfortable.

Many people report feeling relaxed, calm, or peacefulness during meditation practice. But occasionally when we unplug from the usual distractions and noises of our busy day, anxiety or other unpleasant sensations/emotions can arise. Your facilitator can help you navigate any feelings of dis-ease that you may experience. We are here to support your practice, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Postural Alignment. Foundation For Health with Deb Freeman

Tuesdays, 5:30pm–6:30pm.
$13 drop in or YFL class card.

Good posture has many significant benefits including reduced neck, back, knee and joint pain, improved breathing and concentration, better balance and a slimmer and more confident appearance.

Egoscue University certified Postural Alignment Specialist Deb Freeman bases this special class upon the same gentle, corrective exercises (called e-cises) she uses in her individual posture therapy sessions.

Here's what people are saying about practicing postural alignment with Deb:

  • “I fell last year, broke my ankle… It took about 5 months before I began experiencing sharp pains in my neck whenever I lay down… Luckily, my son insisted that I needed to do gentle yoga and work on my posture… my shoulders were folding in and my neck was distended… You have taught me so much… My neck stopped hurting when I lay down… after only three (posture therapy) classes! Amazingly, I could actually sleep without pain… after a dozen classes I now rarely experience any neck pain. AND my posture has improved tremendously!”–Yona B.
  • “Within just a few days of doing these e-cises I felt better. Not just in terms of pain, but also a better sense of well-being. I wouldn't be as tired when I woke up, I had more energy, and my running improved by leaps and bounds.”–Rachel D.
  • “By strengthening certain parts of my body and correcting my posture, the pain in my hip went away, and I also began noticing a more confident presentation in my body language. I felt taller, more healthy and aligned, and overall more comfortable moving around, especially during exercise.”–Rebecca H.
  • “Since practicing with Deb I have noticed increased energy. This is of great benefit with the busy life I lead. Part of that energy has been stimulated through a greater capacity to breathe through my rib cage. The upper respiratory system, including the sinuses have also opened. In general it's a feeling of freedom.”–Michelle I.
  • “I've always had bad posture and I've always wanted to correct it but didn't know how. These exercises have visibly improved my posture, but more importantly they've given me control over my pain!”–Tracie F.
