Because Svaroopa® Yoga releases tensions in the spine, it is also very beneficial to students with back pain, neck and shoulder tensions, stiffness, arthritis and many other symptoms of imbalance in the body. Svaroopa® Yoga allows everyone to discover a new way to live with peace of mind and of body.

Happy Body, Happy Mind. Each class starts with a guided relaxation and breathing practice. This is followed by a series of movements consisting of supported yoga postures that melt away stress and tensions and calm the mind. Each class ends with a deep relaxation that restores your sense of peace.

Juicy Hips Yoga Workshop, Hip Hip Hooray with Rhonda Leone

We will focus on creating space and unwinding the deeper core tensions that create tightness in the back and hips and legs.

In this workshop, we will slow down and sink in. Using the core poses of Svaroopa Yoga to not only create freedom in the hips, we'll also do breathe work to calm the nervous system, and guided meditation to calm the mind and relax the body.

Energetically, releasing the tension in this area is also associated with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd chakras, making it a powerful energetic ally.

The NIA Experience

Nia is sensational! Every Nia class guides students to mindfully focus on sensation in their body while listening and dancing to music. Each class has its own kind of magic that fosters personal creativity and expression.

Nia is practiced barefoot. Through non-impact choreography and listening to the intelligence of the body's design, Nia delivers a holistic fitness experience. Every class is tailored and adapted to individual needs and abilities. Nia teachers are trained to show students a variety of intensity levels and ways to modify movements to safely condition their bodies.

The Nia class is 60 minutes and includes a mindful intention, warm-up, aerobic conditioning, strength training, cool down and movements promoting flexibility. Nia choreography is based on 52 moves designed to condition every joint and muscle group in the body. Meet your body just where it is. All levels are welcome.

As a former dance student, a current Qigong, Yoga and Pilates student, NIA is the “IT” for me. NIA was designed to incorporate, Modern and Duncan dance, Yoga and Martial Arts. Rebecca Narva is a master at creating a class that is safe, fun, exploratory and creative regardless of your experience in any of the disciplines. I am eternally grateful to Rhonda for bringing this class to Yoga for Living and to Rebecca for all that I have learned and experienced in her classes.

Postural Alignment. Foundation For Health with Deb Freeman

Good posture has many significant benefits including reduced neck, back, knee and joint pain, improved breathing and concentration, better balance and a slimmer and more confident appearance.

Egoscue University certified Postural Alignment Specialist Deb Freeman bases this special class upon the same gentle, corrective exercises (called e-cises) she uses in her individual posture therapy sessions.

For our next Community Class we are offering: Yoga Nidra with Rhonda Leone.
Sunday May 5, 4:30pm–5:30pm. $By donation.

Give yourself a mini staycation for your body, mind and spirit with this upcoming Yoga Nidra Class.

Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep, a state of conscious deep sleep for extreme relaxation thereby releasing and relaxing physical, mental and emotional tensions. This one-hour class is as restorative as three hours of sleep.Families welcome, ages 13 and up.What to bring:All supplies to get comfortable will be provided, including bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, and mats. Feel free to bring what you like to add to this experience. Comfortable clothing is suggested.Please arrive by 4:30 pm as doors close promptly to support the quietude and healing space. Or better yet, come to the Free Laughter Yoga Event first and stay for the Yoga Nidra class. You can find out more information about the Laughter Class here.

Providence House domestic violence services and PALS (Peace—A Learned Solution).

As an effort to bring peace and compassion to victims of domestic violence of adults and children, Yoga for Living has partnered with Providence House and PALS of Burlington County. All proceeds collected for our monthly class and project will go directly to this Seva effort each month.

Providence House Domestic Violence Services (PHDVS) provides a free, confidential and comprehensive services for victims of domestic abuse and their children free of charge at outreach offices and emergency safehouses in Burlington and Ocean Counties. Providence House Domestic Violence Services assists victims of domestic abuse and their children with an array of services that include: emergency shelter, a 24 hour hotline, counseling services, a comprehensive children’s program, a parenting support group and a program specifically designed to assist victims age 50 and older. These services are offered at no cost to individuals and are invaluable to victims and their children who are struggling to break free from the cycle of violence in their homes.

Providence House is one of the oldest and most comprehensive domestic violence providers in New Jersey and is accredited through the National Council on Accreditation.

PALS (Peace—A Learned Solution)

Part of Providence House Domestic Violence Services

PALS helps children ages 3-12 who have been exposed to domestic abuse to heal through various forms of creative arts.
